Carlillos Cocina in Sparks

Hands down the best place I've stopped and eaten on this trip to California I'm currently on, from Florida. They give you a huge portions, my mom and I could not finish we were so full. Delicious and great price

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered the fitness enchilada...didn't have spinach as the menu suggests but there were plenty of vegetables and it was very tasty. Would definitely go back there if I'm in the area again!

Stopped by with some friends that were from out of down. Fast friendly service. And the plates were large and reasonably priced.

Amazingly fresh food. Super cheap prices. Huge portions. Small cozy environment. This place is a hole in the wall in every positive meaning. Maybe one of my favorite new breakfast places.

Very authentic flavor. Very fresh, very flavorful. I would come back for dinner if I were in the area. Smaller place but moves decently quickly. 10/10 would highly recommend.

We visit carrillos every time we're in town. The portions are generous and delicious. The staff are very welcoming and outgoing. Highly highly recommend.

Amazing food, carefully prepared right in front of you. Easily the best breakfast burrito, borderline gourmet. The chef is clearly well trained and meticulous in his preparation. The ingredients are also excellent and high quality. Chorizo is tasty, without being overly spicy or greasy. The portions are generous. I will be back often. Easily the best casual restaurant in Sparks.

Updated 15JUN18:Had another trip to Reno recently and I ended up going here every day. No wait, still AMAZING food. It would definitely be part of my daily routine if I lived in the area.Original:Waited an hour and a half to receive our food since someone put in 40 to-go orders to take to the construction workers down the street. The food was amazing once we got it.

Best Mexicsn food we've had since leaving San Diego. Tiny but great atmosphere. It's all counter seating and gives us an up close view of the chef's as they masterfully maneuver back and forth to prepare our meals and somehow manage not to drop their dishes. Part of the allure is getting to interact with the chefs as they work. They seem to truly enjoy what they do.

Great place for Mexican breakfast, brunch or lunch. They close at 2pm so try get there beforehand. My wife and I were back in town visiting and saw the great ratings in Yelp and decided to give Carlillos Cocina a try. It's on the right hand side of the street after you get off the freeway and easy to miss.

Chorizo and eggs was delicious! Hospitality is excellent!!

Travel all over the country for work and this is one of the best meals I've had in a long time.

Pretty good. More than enough food. Small and crowded, you sit at the counter. If the parking lot is full, they are probably busy... Duh.

The staff clearly makes an effort to accommodate. New comers must understand the process to order otherwise they may wait some time. Nothing is explained. It's hit or miss. Too bad Reno Tahoe review should make note

This is the spot for a fantastic Mexican breakfast or brunch. Flavorful and vibrant dishes prepared directly in front of you. You sit at a bar style counter that surrounds the kitchen and wait staff. These folks are truly masters of their craft. It looks a little chaotic and all the sudden your dish is perfectly prepared. Service is excellent. A great spot to brush up on your conversational Spanish. Lots of friendly locals. Massive portion sizes. You will not go home hungry. Affordable! Mexican bottled sodas also available. A real 5 stars. You will be back.

Darling little Mexican diner with that easy classic character- no tables only a long stretch of diner bar, so be prepared to squeeze in! Food was delicious, full of flavor and easy on the wallet. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. What a treat!

I LOVED this locals hole in the wall. I should probably rate it a 4 only because there was no accessible seating options, but the owner-operator is such a delight, food quantities were plentiful and tasty. He knows his customers by name, was very playful/ joking in the most respectful of ways, and accommodating of any dietary modifications. If I lived in Reno I'd become a regular.

First timer with my family and we love the food . Definitely coming back when we visit Reno

Holy guacamole!! This is literally the best breakfast I've had in a while or even ever. Definetly best chilliqueles and breakfast burritos and we are conisours when it comes to these things. Look at this fresh food, great color and presentation. Low price. Tons of food. Friendly staff. I'd live here if they'd let me.😍

Soo good I love this place. It is not Authentic Mexican food but is still very delicious. Back home “Texas” this food is called TexMex food.

Awesome breakfast! I got the fitness enchiladas and the veggies were fresh and everything tasted great. Love the pickled carrots and jalapenos. My daughter ate my rice, beans and potatoes, she said they were yummy. Massive portions for the price. Fast, friendly service.

Large plates, good Mexican/breakfast food. Place can be busy but you won't wait too long. Small parking lot. But no matter what you'll be happy you went. Intimate counter seating, no tables. Everyone is friendly and happy to be there.

We were originally excited to come and check this place out as the reviews were amazing. We came here for breakfast. Honestly- the breakfast was not that great. We ordered the pacho villa place as it sounded enticing. The plate did not reflect the ingredients. The mixture was all vegetables, I could not get the taste of the egg. Very disappointed. Vegetables are good for you, but what's breakfast without any eggs. Additionally , a HUGE disappointment was the flour tortillas were not home made. What's a Mexican restaurant without home made tortillas. Will not return. Service was nice and friendly I must say.

Great food, large servings, decent prices. This place is usually very busy every time I go for lunch. Parking and seating are tight, but that's the price for this hidden gem.

What an unexpected spot for breakfast! My colleague recommended I stop by, and boy am I glad he did. Breakfast here was a killer. It filled me up flakiest as well as when quantity. You can't go wrong, and listen for their specials, extra delicious!

This place is FANTASTIC! They make the food in front of the bar like an old diner. It tastes fantastic and I'm not usually a fan of Mexican food!!!!

We are staying at the casinos and had to get away from the buffets. After reading the positive reviews and seeing the pictures posted, we had to visit. Small place with great food and large portions! Staff is friendly and fast. If you are visiting please stop by, open for breakfast and lunch only. Carlillos Cocina will be our must place for a great meal next time we are in town!!
